The pump can stop working or will not turn on from the start and with this article, you will be able to figure out why your pump behaves this way, what could go wrong, and how the problem can be solved.
Problem
Problems with pumps can be a result of:
- Issues on the pump connectors (damaged, not plugged in correctly or all the way in)
- Suboptimal orientation of the pump
- Faults on the pump
Troubleshooting steps and questions
To find the root cause, ask yourself these troubleshooting questions:
-
Did you use any connectors to connect the pump to the motherboard, or did you plug it directly into the motherboard? If you connected the device via a splitter/hub/controller, try connecting it to different ports directly on the motherboard.
-
Did you plug the connector(s) all the way in and correctly according to the instruction manual? If not, what did you do differently?
-
What are your PWM settings/PWM curves?
- Did the pump work at some point and suddenly stopped, or was it problematic from the beginning?
- The suboptimal orientation of the pump can cause failure as well so if the pump is not mounted correctly it can draw air and get damaged sooner.
Solution
Here are the solutions for the mentioned troubleshooting steps:
- If the pump still does not work, the pump is dead so you should contact the RMA team.
- If you find out that the pump cables were not connected correctly and the pump now works, you are good to go. If the pump still does not work, contact the RMA team.
- If the pump is connected correctly but you still cannot see the PWM curve in your BIOS, the pump should be replaced - contact the RMA team (if the pump works, the PWM does not).
- If the pump worked and suddenly started to malfunction please check the wire connections. If they are ok, the pump should be replaced - contact RMA. If the pump was not working from the beginning please go through the first 3 steps.
- Correct the position of the pump if possible, if not, make sure that there is enough coolant in the reservoir (fill the reservoir all the way)
If none of the stated steps work, please contact our support team for additional help.
