Why was I charged when my order didn’t go through?
If you couldn’t finish the order-placing process or didn’t receive order confirmation, your order may not be successfully placed. The pending transaction visible on your account is only a pre-authorization, meaning no funds were withdrawn from your account. There is just a temporary hold placed on them.
If the transaction cannot be settled, it will be voided (annulled by our payment processing software). That does not, however, remove the initial authorization. This means that you will see a pending charge for a certain period of time (the length of which depends on your bank’s policies) after the transaction has been voided.
If you used funds from your PayPal balance to make the payment, the money is returned to your account. If you used a credit card to make a purchase, the money is returned to your card.
Per your bank’s policies, if an order is not placed successfully, all pending authorizations will automatically be removed from your account within 5-10 business days. If the funds don’t appear after that period, you may need to contact your bank or PayPal and inquire about their policy on holding voided authorizations.
